A neighbor told Daily Voice that he "heard an air conditioner pop and then smelled smoke."

No injuries were reported.

News of the fire brought back memories of a massive multi-use blaze on Anderson Avenue last September just a quarter-mile or so to the north.

Responders late Monday morning quickly got residents and merchants out of the multi-use series of connected units on Anderson Avenue that includes the popular Rudy's Seafood Restaurant.
